Casting Headshots/Portfolio Builder

15 04 2010

Tonight, I have been taking some headshots for actor Morton Harper as his 10x8s. These are sent to casting and acting agencies and are the first contact a production company will have with the actor/actress.

This is simple portrait photography, except the photo must be a true representation. That means no airbrushing, no tidying up, TRUE REPRESENTATION! Ok, so pimple/spot removal is allowed, but there is no point in airbrushing as this is not a glossy magazine shoot. This certainly does not mean that any old photo will do. Once the actor/actress is cast, makeup artists will take over, so the casting agents need to see the real you!

I am offering this as a service. It will take around an hour, maybe two if required. The headshots will then be worked on, distracting backgrounds removed and converted to black and white. You will then receive emailed/CD hi-resolution copies of 2-3 of the headshots. It can be done either at my home, your home, or a location of your choice (cafe bar, park). All you need is good light (studio, or the good old ball in the sky).

Standard price for headshots is £120, but why not combine this with a photoshoot towards a portfolio? A three to four hour portfolio shoot is £320. This includes the headshots and up to 8 full resolution ‘glossy’ style files, printable up to A3, and equivalent web versions for use in an online portfolio. You can also change into as many outfits as you see fit within that time. Bring your favourite music (I’ll wear ear plugs), a bottle of wine (no point being nervous) and a friend (who will not interrupt).

Contact me for any more information you require via the address on the About page.

Good luck Morton.

Philip is an extremely professional photographer, who easily makes you feel relaxed and sensitively captures your ‘look’ with flair and panache. I would whole-heartedly recommend him!
